John Hearn Hardware & Engineering is a family hardware business based in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, Rep of Ireland.
Since 1896 we have dedicated ourselves to providing a professional and personalised service.
We are passionate about what we do. Our consultancy-based approach ensures we help you make the proper choices for your hardware and engineering needs.
Our store is easily accessible with two entrances. One from the centre of the historic town's Main Street, and another from the North Quays on the scenic river Suir. Importantly our new North Quay entrance is adjoining one of the town's main car parks which ensures a leisurely shopping experience from the off. Our extensive product range stretching across our sprawling floors includes general hardware, engineering, farm & garden, paint & decorating, workwear, housewares, giftware and much more. For four generations we are the trusted source in the south-east for contemporary and rare product lines.

One crucial advantage of buying power tools from bricks & mortar stores such as ours is the reassurance in the back-up support.
In the event of any issue, you simply return the product to our engineering desk. The problem then is ours, and our responsibility to resolve. And fast.

At John Hearn H&E, we provide high-quality farm and yard essentials: shovels, sprongs, chains, wire & ropes - and all related fittings from turnbuckles to split links. We stock a healthy range of electric fence gear, felling axes, crowbars, sledges to barn door, trailor and fencing ironmongery. Our range of bolts & nuts, threaded bar and water fittings in off-standard sizes is unrivalled in the south-east.
All the above before we mention again our extensive hydraulic hose assembly and repair service, to our offerings in unusual sizes in spanners and sockets.
Our engineering department is best accessed through our new North Quay entrance.
We offer a wide range of garden supplies including seeds, plant feeds, pesticides, fungicides along with garden tools and accessories for both DIY-ers to professionals. This spring, 2024, we have a large range of planters, flower pots and urns in stock.
In major brands like Makita, Skil, Hikoki, we continue to provide a range of battery charged garden trimmers and hedge cutters, all complimented with an efficient and high speed backup service.
